I have read all the post in this thread with great interest. So if I may conclude from reading these posts : ((please let me know, if I’ve misunderstood anything))
Because !
If I have a problem I start breaking things down to try and find solutions’ {so please bear with me as I’m sure there must be something better for us to have a look at out there.} By using the internet.

Right !

All countries mainly/mostly have the same technologies available as we; have here, in the UK! For receiving TV channels. Am I correct in assuming that?

Then maybe ….instead of looking into Corfu and what will work for us in Britain to take over there. We should in fact look at the internet and do more research, there?

The only thing is! I wouldn’t know where to Start/look or what to search for ……..so if someone can gave me some pointers. I can posts back on this thread as to my finding.

…then hopefully some of you more knowledgeable people can explain and make me understand things a bit better
..
I am sure there are a lot of us living/planning to live there would or working in Corfu would be interested in helping.

GOOD IDEA !

Roseanne

Hi Roseanne

satelliteforcaravans.co.uk is a good website, I just printed out the relevant sections and was able  to set up my system in Corfu.

I have a sky digi box without subscription but a freesat card (£20) with an 80cm dish and get Channel4, Sky3, Sky news and lots of other stuff but no ITV or BBC except for radios 2 & 4.

I also have another digital receiver which I use for getting the Hotbird satellites these are at 13' east as opposed to Sky at 28.5' east, I just go outside and swing the dish around to a pre marked position. I use this box to get almost all live UK premiership matches, I buy a card from Ebay for £87 for a year. You can buy boxes in Corfu and they will pick up all sorts of channels including movies and UK football but they are 'Patched' and will eventually stop receiving the premium subscription channels. I got caught out last year by an Englishman selling these 'patched' boxes. You are probably better off buying in the UK as you will get the handbook in English.

Hope this helps.

Jim

Hi Roseanne !

Watching Sky TV here in Corfu is simple and easy ...the hard part is if you want  to watch BBC 1 ITV & in some cases C5

With the exception of the above you can receive Sky with a 1.20m dish not expensive and easily installed .....for the BBC etc the dish size is double 2.40m and more tricky to set up due to the BBC low signal.

The Corfiot magazine has adverts detailing installers.

Simply bring with you your sky box and card hook it up to your dish and TV and your done !

If you do not currently subscribe to Sky ...sign up  it is much cheaper for you than subscribing from here in Corfu although the same people who will put up your dish can do this for you.

Do not despair there are a lot of us here watching Sky and i mean a Lot !
