For 18 or 19 years we've visited Corfu at least once a year.  We've been in every summer month apart from June and October.

My wife Sue gets eaten alive by the Mossies whilst I have been bitten just once in the years we've been going there.  Does anyone have the answer as to why some people like me are lucky whilst other poor people have to suffer.

It can't be a matter of diet as both Sue and I eat similar food.  So what is the answer.

Hi Rog

We have no idea why that should happen. It has always been the same for Martyn and I.

That is until this summer, when for the first time ever Martyn got bitten more than me and had a more pronounced reaction to the bites. I got off very lightly, with a few bites that disappeared almost immediately. I have to sya that it was nice to be bite free for a change!

We have no explanation as we could identify nothing in our diets that have changed.

It truly is a mystery.

Thanks for that.

As we both take medication of one sort or another we've wondered whether it could have anything to do with that, but, there again it's very similar.

Think if either you or Martyn take any tablets.  I'm only interested because it's a question no one has got answer for and I don't like unanswered questions.

There has got to be some reason or another the damn Mossies saying to themselves I don't like the look of you.  If we could find the answer we could make a fortune.

Maybe it is something to do with the blood type/aroma of people??  Don't know just a thought.  Or could be just a case of bad luck lol........

You could be right.  What I'm interested in is how many of us suffer or not in the same way.

My husband, who's diabetic gets bitten quite badly, but not with particularly bad reactions. I was bitten once in Ipsos this summer, that's when I forgot to put my jungle formula spray on! My husband used it but was still bitten.!

No clear answer though - we did use plug ins all day and night in the apartment even though you shouldn't with air con, that seemed to do the trick too.

Hi, My husband gets bitten to pieces to the point that he has to wear long trousers day and night on the other hand I have never been bitten. This year it occurred to me that maybe I do get bitten {as I quite often feel something on me that prickles} but maybe the difference is that I do not get a bad reaction. Just a thought that maybe I am not sweet enough.

Hi Rog

I have been going to Corfu 20 years and bitten to death.not a nice experience

But I love the place...in June this year I took my usual antyhistamines and also used a creme the Bruce recommended....we all know Bruce, and I had no problem..NO PROBLEM AFTER 20 YEARS...I was made up.

I thought I had cracked it ....but no...went back in September with the same formulae and got eaten again....to death...lol

Hi,

Back in June I got eaten alive, allthough no bad reaction. Last week I was back again for one week and only got bitten once and a big reaction.

Maybe the sort of mosquitoes changes over the months.

Jan
