Hi,

I have a friend who is a 1/2 owner of a property in Greece and wants to know what is the tax situation if they bought a 2nd home while keeping the first?

I hope one of you Corfu experts might know the answer. Many thanks

BeeBee

Hi BeeBee ,

As far as I understand it , if there is no monetary gain from either of their homes or half homes...lol then the tax people will not be interested .

As long as they pay their due bills for utilities etc . what could interest the taxman ? I believe also , although not researched thoroughly as yet , that there is no inheritance tax on the island .

Regards....J&H

Jeez Jeremy ,

I need a code cracker to decipher your posts....lol.........you will be accused of talking gobbledegook soon if you carry on .....lol.....

Capital gains tax only applies if you sell within the first five years , I was assuming that as BB states that her friend is buying a second home and keeping the first .

Regards.....John
