for those who don't know, 3 blasts for reverse, 1 blast for altering course to Port and 2 for altering course to Starboard

Erm, Martyn I may not be a vat expert, but I am a yachtmaster, I think you will find the signals mean 3 blasts, my engines are reversing, 2 blasts I am turning to PORT, one blast I am turning to STARBOARD!

Well spotted - more a slip of the brain when tryping

My only excuse is that it was tryped in a hurry!Somehow it makes more sense doing it that writing about it. And I can assure you that no one on the Customs Cutter would have noticed if we had got it wrong, as they were all fast asleep - at least until we got on the horn!
