Hi.  Ive just found the living costs for corfu dated February 2006.  Just wanted to say thanks and how useful it is for me who is storing up lots of info and planning and plotting.

Every bit of info help in persuading my hubby Phil that its where we need to be (his only worry getting employment).  ive tried to tell him that if we own our propery outright, then we are a lot better off than a lot of other people who manage.

Where would one rather be, living in Brum with a mortgage or, living in paradise without one?

Yammas and efharisto again.  Belinda

What a great attitude you have. However depending on your circumstances it would probably be wise to discover something to give you an income. I wish you every luck if you decide to 'go for it'.

Another thing to try is enroling yourselves in a Greek language evening course at your local college. It really will help to make things go a bit easier for you if you can say a few basic things in Greek - and learning the alphabet will help you as well.  The courses will probably start in September sometime.

While you're waiting, you could always make a bit of a start by trying some of the language and grammar threads in the Kafeneion forum!!   [;)]

Hiya

Thanks for replies.  I'm already learning to read, write and speak Greek.  I'm lucky in that I have a personal Greek tutor.

Transferable skills, I teach exercise to over 60's, ex nurse, qualified carer, bar person, waitress, admin trained, learning Reiki healing and possibly Chiropody as well.  ive told the hubby he can live off me but he's a man and needs something.

I'll try the kafeneon thingy.  Yammas Belinda

Ps love the animals too, would do vol work if needed.  We'd both walk dogs.  I agree with Brian, die of heart attack or of boredom with an ouzo in hand
