Can I be one of the first to use the newly reinstated forum to ask those in the know where we can purchase a cement mixer?

We wll be going out in May and it would save valuable working time if we already had an idea of where to get one.

there is deffo a shop in corfu town but cant remember name. its not far from port entrance/exit. maybe somebody else knows. i will try to find out from my mate.

There are bound to be plenty of builders merchants around the island - especially near Corfu Town. The color=#800080 Babel Fish translator gives the translation for cement mixer as �� ("anamiktis tsimentou") - but there may be a more commonly used slang term.

Also, if you ask your neighbours or someone at the local Mayor's office, or even at the local shop or Kafeneion, they may know of a builder who you could hire a mixer from for a week or so, rather than buying one.

Another option might be if one of the DIYers out there already has their own mixer that they've more or less finished with. If so, you might be able to offer them a fair price for it.

hi there,on the main road to corfu town just next to lidl supermarket there is a shop where you can buy cement mixers,my husband is a greek builder and he just bought one for 370 euros,good luck clare xxx

...Hi ya raine....Or you could ask that chap that is going over to corfu in his White van(MCJACKSON)...If he has any room left that is...You could buy a brand new one in England from Wicks or B.and.Q for around �110 ...As they are much cheaper over hear and have it taken over for you....Once finnished with it i am sure some one would buy it off you over there...Chris

Thanks for the effort, I had to smile when I checked the eBay link as the first picture was of a Bob the Builder cement mixer - I rather like it!! Bit too small for our needs though LOL.

That would have been in idea Chris but having seen the number of people interested in taking up his offer I don't think there would be any more room.
