Hi there, hope this helps a bit. My husband is Greek and at the time of the birth of my little boy (now 6 yrs old) we were living in Corfu but i too travelled back to the UK for the birth. We registered his birth in the UK as normal and when we returned to Corfu also registered it there too. From what I can remember we did it at the local municipality office which in our case was Argirades. My husband did all the paperwork and I think Ii had to just sign one or two documents. We certainly did not have to go to Athens. We had to get the birth certificate and our marriage certificate translated and it was quite a simple process. He has a UK passport but is also allowed to have a Greek one if need be and as far as I am aware with us now living in the UK all the time he will not have to do national service in the Greek army, however if we ever return to live in Greece he will have to. Good luck with it all!
