Hi I was in Croacia in May and before hand I tried to learn afew words like hello and how are you etc. But found the words I learnt weren't the words used. Can anyone help with a couple of phrases like hello and how much is it thankyou and any other useful Greek phrase.  Thanx

Go to http://www.olympicairlines.com/ then Passengers' Info (on the left), then Words To Get You By - a very useful list of Greek phrases.

..And i still keep forgetting as to what i say to them in the morning i know it's (kalimera) but to be called (kalimara)..bit of a damp squid first thing in the morning...chris

hi ive been learning greek for over a year and go to greece every year, hello is yasou and all so means goodbye so that ones easy, thankyou is efharisto or if you want to say thanks very much its efharisto poli, please is paracalaw,if you would like to say good morning its cali mera, good evening is cali spera and goodnight is cali nikta, those are just a few basics if you would like to know anything else drop me a line im happy to help
