Hi Rosy ,
You can take the car for six months only at one time without resgistering it .
After six months you can take the ferry to Brindisi and then come back to start another period .
Unless the law has changed recently, I'm afraid it isn't quite as easy as that.
It is true that you can keep the car in Greece for an initial six-month period but then you are supposed to take it out of the country for six months before bringing it back in again - if it stays registered to the same person.
We managed to avoid this because we used to go to Brindisi at the end of the period, transfer ownership between us and then re-import the car on the next ferry. Then the second named person could have the car for the next period.
As I said, the law may have changed since then but, if so, it would make the six-month rule quite meaningless really and no-one would bother to pay the high price to register their cars when the alternative would be a cheap return ticket for a mini-cruise to Italy.
