We returned to the uk on Thursday 11th October after yet another wonderful holiday(we have been visiting Skala now for 16 years). We stayed at the wonderful Christina apts owned by the Mikalatos familyand was asked to post a message by George on web sites in the uk to answer the many enquiries that they have had with regard to their recent family tradgedy. On Saturday 6th of October the brother of Athena(Jimmy's partner)died in a tragic accident with a tour bus on his motor bike on the Sami to Poros road. The family were totally devastated , particularly Athena and Jimmy. The family manfully soldiered on ,running the restaurant which was almost full at the time of the accident and attending to their Apartments, and continued to do so with the help of the rest of the family.Their professionalism and attention to their customers never faulted inspite of their shock and grief. We hope that this short explanation will explain their inability at this time to reply to their many friends and customers back here in the U.Kand hope that in two weeks time when they close for the season they will have time and peace to come to terms with their sad and untimely loss.We express our deep sadness and respect for this lovely family as i am sure their many friends share here in the U.K .We hope this short message will give everyone an insight into the situation

We were sat in the pub with friends on Christmas Eve a few years ago when they got a call to say Len's Son had been killed in an RTA so I know how upset the family must have been. We're going to Scala next July for the first time and will make a point of visiting the restaurant if someone can let me have the location.

Thanks Jimmy, we'll make a point visiting. We're staying in the Anassa which as you probably know is virtually on the beach so we won't be far away.

Dave, The Annasa is across the road from the massive Skala beach,it has the best swimming pool in the whole of Skala and a fantastic pool bar,you will be just round the corner from the high street which boasts some great Tavernas and shops,i promise you wont be dissapointed.....
