Hi all,
We are getting married in Fiscardo in August with 20 friends & family. At the moment we have our reception booked at the Nicolas Taverna but we are staying at the Emelisse hotel & i also like the idea of having the reception there. Has anyone been to these places as we never have & could do with a few opinions!

For 2008 www.agni.gr/travel will be offering accommodation online in Fiscardo and Assos and if you are not all staying at the Emelisse then you may like some information on the accommodation side of things. I can send you information now if that is of interest. If you want to book your reception at the Emelisse they do arrange wedding receptions by one of the private pools with buffet catering and will give you a price per head for this. They like the reception to finish fairly early in the evening in respect for the other guests staying at the hotel. Nicholas Taverna is in a great position for a wedding reception as you can make as much noise as you like there. Did you book the Emelisse package thru Sovereign Holidays or Ionian Island or are you doing this all direct? You can send me an email if you like to francesca (a) kefalonia-travel-guide.com

i know someone who had their honeymoon at Emelisse and they raved about it saying it was sooooo romantic and luxurious. Im sure you wont be disappointed - some of the pictures i've seen taken of it by the couple are fabulous - it made me want to go there for our honeymoon next year. I cant comment on what it is like for a wedding reception as I dont know but it is a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location on a beautiful island and Im sure you will love your stay there even if you dont have your reception there.
