Of course it matters where you are. I was sitting still in front of a PC talking to Nathan who was doing the same and we never felt anything. A good tip for anyone buying a house is to look round the village and see if there is any cracking in the walls due to earthquakes or any landslides in the area. Our village is between 400 and 500 years old and yet I cannot find a single crack in any wall due to earthquakes. It depends what your village is built on.
Our friends in the west of the island often feel the quakes and see the damage they cause. I have been on the phone to them and they have suddenly stopped and asked me if I have fealt the quake but we never have. Of course you will never feel one in a car as it just feels like a natural movement. I can't believe that anyone does more 'sitting eating, watching TV, lying in bed' than I do, but we never feel them to the same extent as friends in other parts of the island tell us that they do.
