Hi Oakwood,

Here is a weblink to a well known and long established Taverna in Corfu Town.

http://www.restaurantrex.gr/

In the past many members have posted about it.  All comments have praised it highly.

Yammas,  Colin.

Mine has to be The Bistro Latino in a side street up from Mcd's. They do excellent food and the people are just the best.I found myself in a situation one sunday with no money and as the banks were shut couldn't cash a travellers chq,i was starving i can tell you but these people (spiros & dimitri) the owners gave me free food and drinks and told me never to do without as they are my friends.I had only met them a few days prior to this so i was really touched by their gesture. We remain friends even tho im back in the uk now and i bought their children some nice xmas prezzies before i left.

We went to Rex our first night in Corfu, loved it!!  The lamb and potatoes are to die for!

We will be cruise boat docking in Corfu just for the day October 19.  We plan on spending time within the docking or main area of the town (walking).  Can anyone suggest a good, Greek food, colorful cafe or taverna which will be open for lunch at this time of year.  Thanks.

Lulu

Welcome on CTG. Corfu town is within walking distance from Corfu port. You can spend your day walking in town's narrow roads (kantounia) and visiting its castles, museums and churches. You will find a lot of good restaurants for lunch. REX, mentioned above, is also recommented by me.

Have a nice cruise!
