Hi,
Can anyone give any advice on booking flights to Corfu for next July or August...e.g. when is a good time to book, do prices tend to go up or down at certain times of the year, or is a lottery due to fuel prices?
Cheers,
Cathi.

Cathi - it is a bit of a lottery and you just have to keep checking and book as soon as you see a reasonable deal. Last year Thomsons flights suddenly went down in price the 2nd week in January and we booked quickly. By the end of that week they'd gone back up but we'd got a bit extra for the Metaxa fund! Wish I could book now for 2009 though as there seems to be good package deals on.

Personally I like to get it booked and know it's done! There don't seem to be the same bargains around as a few years ago, although if you dare to leave it to the very very last minute (3 or 4 days before you want to go) then you should get a really good deal. BUT of course you want to go peak season, so maybe not!
Book as soon as you know your dates is my advice.

Thanks so far but any further advice would be appreciated. I've looked at package deals and there are some great ones around but not for three of us. We have to have a studio for 3, pay for 2 adults and one child and then pay the under occupancy. At Tereza's for example, Thompson won't let us have a studio for 2 as there is no space for a cot or small bed - even though I know there is room as we have stayed in these rooms before we had our son (don't blame Leo, Fanis etc. for this by the way). If I book room and flight separately, I can choose what kind of room we have and pay accordingly. Sorry ... moan, moan, moan!

Cathi - looks as if you will need to do a bit more research on this! Thought you were just asking about flights and best time to book. Agree the under-occupancy charges are unfair, but most places we looked at (in Kassiopi) charge per room no matter how many in it.
They are not packages tho - we do it independently.
Good luck anyway. Hope you find what you want

Hi Cathi,
I booked my flights with Easyjet during the Christmas holiday for this August (Gatwick to Corfu 12th August for 2 weeks £222.00 for 2 passengers). Flights tend to go up and down on a daily basis and especially on a weekend. We book a studio direct with Spiros at the Angelica Hotel in Aghios Gordios. Rooms are available for 2/3/4 people. He has a web site:
www.angelicahotel.com
Flights for next summer are not available yet with Easyjet. I did have good rates last year with Thomsonfly from Luton.
Good luck.
