Hi

We have not visited San Stefanos since 1992, we love the place but have been reluctant to return because of the airport.

Anyway we have bitten the bullet and book at the Perros in September.

Has the airport improved and are there any tips to make thing go smoothly.

Any comments about the Perros Hotel.

What are the best eating places in San Stefanos

Airport is chaos, had a ten hour delay yesterday (Excel Airways)

Big fat piece of advice is BOOK YOUR FLIGHTS WITH B.A. They travel at a different times to the madding crowd, and are ridiculously cheap at the mo.

Olympia & Olive Press our favs.

Hi focusman,

The airport is still quite small but you'll find it a vast improvement from the last time you visited it.

Don't know about the Perros Hotel but someone on here will.

Enjoy your holiday.

Perros hotel is fab. We spent most of our evenings there last year. Staff are very friendly and most who are there have been going for years.

Hi focusman - we went back in  taxi to the airport in June, which chopped the waiting time there by half so it wasn't too bad. Of course that was before the latest security problems!

My favourite eating place in San Stefanos has to be the Little Prince - fab food and lovely staff, plus Greek dancing every night. I'm in Sidari in Sept but will be coming over to eat there one night to meet up with some friends.

Chaos last friday, last calls being made for flights before checking in started. CONQUER THAT QUEUE ONLY TO MOVE INTO ONE FOUR TIMES AS LONG FOR PASSPORTS AND SECURITY. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE NO METAL ON, NO LIQUIDS ETC.. A WOMAN IN FRONT OF US COULDN'T GET BANGLES OFF AND WAS TAKEN INTO A CURTAINED OFF AREA FOR A PERSONAL SEARCH. THAT TOOK 2 SECURITY CHECKERS AWAY, AND THEN THERE WAS PRIORITY GIVEN TO AIRPORT WORKERS, PANDEMONIUM.

Hi Focusman, Not sure if you have the Perros website or not but here it is.

http://www.perroshotel.com/

There are lots of nice eating places in San Stefanos amongst which are Little Prince, Zorbas, Olympian,Yannis . I could go on and on but I am sure you will find your own personal favourites during your stay. Personally we have never had a bad meal in San Stefanos.

The food at the Nafsika is always just fabulous if you like authentic Greek cooking - you will not get better!
