Hi Ali, most places in Sidari have fish on the menu. The menu will tell you if it is frozen or fresh fish that is used.

At the far end of Sidari past the shops but long before the junction to Roda, going inland there is a fish restaurant. I'm not sure of the name but the sign has a fish on it.

When in Sidari I was told about two Greek tavernas (used by the Greek folk) up through Canal D'Amour in Peroulades. One was called Yannis and the other Biccollos (spelling).

We never managed to get there, but was told the food was wonderful, maybe they do fresh fish? Worth a try.

Hi Ali,

There is a wonderful fish and chip shop in Melitsa (far end of sidari going towards canal da mour) it is run by John and Michelle (Macca's) and their staff, it is called Churchills, I know you probably mean a proper fish restaurant but you must give this a try, their food is great.

Hi

There is an excellent fish restaurant on the beach in Acharavi (if only I could remenber it's name.  It's fairly new (a couple of years old?) and very modern in appearance.

Sorry, I can't be of more help.

Martyn

I think they only do fried fish there dont they? We ate there quite a lot and the most popular fish was the north sea cod/haddock?

Hi,

Fresh fish is hard to find in Sidari, although Dorothes Corner does have fresh fish (the owner lives in Corfu Town and he brings fresh fish from the market).

I can highly recommend taking the 5 minute drive from Sidari to Astrakeri Beach where you will find one and only one Taverna called the 3 brothers.  It is a true Corfiot fish Taverna, 2 of the brothers are twins and they are great guys.  You can look and choose your fish from the ice fridge, everything is fresh.  The speciality is Bourdeto, a Corfiot dish of dogfish in a spicy sauce.

I tend to go in the evenings to the beach with my little girl and then we walk over to the Taverna for dinner at sundown.  Mainly Greek clientele and if you go on Sunday lunchtime, get there early.  The local choir eat on Sundays there and if they have enough wine they burst into song.

Also try Agrokali Fish Taverna in beautiful San George, 10 minutes drive from Sidari...good for lunch as the dirt track that leads to it has no lighting so not a good idea after a few drinks.  The owners name is Kostas and he serves the best seafood on the island....My family and I have been eating there for 10 years!!!  Follow the road to the end of the bay and continue down the dirt track that hugs the coast, first Taverna that you reach.

Might see you there.

Martyn, we went there two years ago and couldnt wait to go back on our return to Acharavi.....

sadly it has disappeared...is now a sad derelict building on the beachfront....

it was called H'Istoire D' Eau (history of water) and we had such fab food in there......it WAS very expensive compared to all of the other seemingly thriving restarants in ach...and I wonder if this was it's downfall?
