Hi, I was a member here but forgot my username so had to start again!

Anyway, my family and I are off to Sidari next Monday, we want to hire a car for about five days in the middle of our two weeks but so far we haven't decided whether it's best to hire one through our travel agent or wait till we get to Sidari?

Last time we hired a car when we booked the tickets and had it delivered to Potamus appts from EuropeCar hire.

Wait until you get to Sidari - it will be much cheaper.   There are plenty of car hire agencies - all respectable, and they will all deliver & pick up.

Value plus have 2 offices one in the main road going into Sidari and the other Limmy told you about. This is a really good company. We have been using them for about 12 years! Sophie, Yanni, Racheal, or Linda will sort out the best deal for you e mail them on valueplus(at)acn or on line at www.carrentals.com.  you will get the best service in Sidari.

Have a great holiday.

Have to agree with Sylvia. Have used Valueplus for many years and always had excellent service. This year is the first time we've booked by e-mail and had the car delivered to the airport. Guy was waiting for our flight, papers were signed and keys handed over in Arrivals before we even got our luggage. Booked again for September! Have a great holiday!     Moyra

Hi Paul

We've just got back from 2 weeks in Sidari (sob sob) and we hired a car from Dimitri and Manos near The Smugglers and Churchills bars in Canal D' Amour.  I believe they also have another branch opposite The Three Little Pigs Taverna. They were very helpful.  We paid 140 Euros for an air conditioned 4 door Peugeot 206 for 6 days with mo mileage limit. In my experience the bigger firms who work hand in hand with tour operators charge a lot more because bigger firms are dearer and the t.o want their cut too.

By the way if you intend to go on any excursions use a local agent. We paid an extortionate 75% more to Thomsons for a night trip to Corfu Town. When I checked the prices locally I was furious. Tour operators seem keen to sell excursions at introductory meetings as quickly as possible. They realise that once people have compared prices they won't book with them. The local operators are very helpful and not at all presurising. Hope this helps

Have a great holiday. Sidari is wonderful.

Vaughan
