Corfu

Hi all,

I'm due to arrive in Corfu on Saturday morning and I'm having a few last minute jitters!

Lately I've heard a few bad things about lots of lively resorts, about things like drinks getting spiked, people getting taken advantage of, things getting stolen...etc.

So I'm just wondering if this is known of in Sidari, or if its likely to happen, or if theres easy help if this may actually happen to somebody, eg, would would they do, how can the get help etc?!

I'm just scared it could happen to me or my friends when away. I am actually very sensible and never get into drunken states where I dont know what's happening, and I always keep my drink with me at all times, look after my friends etc... but you can never be too careful, and its worrying when I'm goin to a new place for the first time, especially as I'm travelling alone.

Im not saying sidari is bad, if people read this like that, I'm just curious, and worried about it, which is natural!

Any information would be great, thankyou!

Hi Jaimie I know you must be feeling a little apprehensive but as long as you are sensible and remember the rules, keep with your friends look after your drinks etc, you should be fine, any major incidents are very few and far between - the major incident last year was that some cables blew up near dionysos apartments and blew the whole of the main strip out, I was waiting for my macca d's at the time with my Son, I was distraught lol xx

Take care and enjoy yourself but remember keep your wits about you and you will be just fine xx

Jamie you sound a very sensible girl, so just do everything you have mentioned and keep your wits about you and enjoy it. I was out there on my own last oct/nov and never encountered any problems and felt totally safe. Hope all goes well for you

Michelle, i dont remember a powercut, where was i?

I have not heard of anything happening in Sidari could be wrong .This will be my 7th year and never felt threatened at all .You just have to be sensible like you would anywhere .The only thing I don't like is the people outside the bars asking you to go in (sorry pr's) i know its there job but we always have a bi of a banter with them.

I've been goin for 3 years now with my sons who first time were 11 and 15 my oldest did report that he had seen someone gettin a drink spiked but like everyone else is sayin, you sound sensible and Sidari is no different to any other big resorts. Keep your wits about you and you will have no probs. My youngest wanders freely and has no probs.

You are more likely to have a problem with mozzies rather than anything else...enjoy Sidari....

Alison, been told no more PR's working in sidari this year, there was a thread about this topic a few weeks ago, apparently new Mayor on the block and he has really clamped down, also believe that some of the lasses that have gone over there to work for the summer are on their way back but unsure as to why though xx
