Hi blimpy last year when we stayed in roda i booked over the internet with

http://www.corfusunrise.com/   They turned up at our hotel on time the vehical was brand new only 800km on the clock and the best part was it cheap 160euros for 7 days in fiat doblo 7 seater.

I know i will use them again they were great but if they are not availble i will use value plus http://www.kerkyra.net/valueplus/ in sidari again they were very good.

Safe driving.

Prices depend on when you are going and what your requirements are re size of vehicle and insurance cover. It is very competitive and prices are lower at off-peak parts of the season.

Beware of the real cheapies and ask directly what is the insurance and what excesses are payable in the event of an accident. I have heard too many stories of "full insurance" turning out to not to be that at all. For example last year someone in our hotel swerved to miss a huge pot-hole, dropped a wheel into a ditch and rolled down a bank all at slow speed. First the hire company wanted a 500 euro excess then the insurance company said they must have been driving recklesly and wanted 5000 euros !!! It is not the same as the UK Fully Comp cover.

Some companies do offer Fully Comp with no excesses. For early May I was quoted 170 euros for one week from Ocean Cars (airport pick-up) for an Atos A/C (Group2).

For shorter periods the local "in-resort" companies often offer good prices say from 35 euros per day or 100 euros for 3 days.

Hi Blimpy, We got a hired a car last year from a place on high street started with a V...... Sorry cant remember name.  We had small car for 3 days I think it was about 60 euros.  It was good fun but very scary.  Some of the  roads  are only half there! Doing it again this year though!

If you are talking about a place that starts with a V on the high street, I think it will be Valueplus. Excellant service, fully comp insurance, delivery to airport or apartments and pick up. Good value with as previously stated excellant insurance cover. Not all places give that - which if you do have an accident can turn out to be very expensive!!!!!! Sophie or Yanni will look after you. valueplus@acn.gr give them a try - you have nothing to loose and everything to gain for peace of mind.

According to their web-site ValuePlus's basic insurance cover is 3rd party with CDW 7 euros per day extra, and Super CDW (i.e. no excess) extra again so check it carefully.

Hi Blimpy,

Last summer we booked our car through Agni Travel.  We booked a villa through them as well, so I'm not sure what company they use.  You're on the right website to find out.  We were met at the airport, it was a breeze.  The cost was also inexpensive! Good luck! Lots of great beaches on the east side of the island.  Just take your time and enjoy!
