Hi there I am Tonya, first time on the forum. After endless search for a quite holiday in Crete we end up booking at Makis Studios - Roda on recommendation from the travel agent at thomas cook.  The price was resounable comparing to many places.  We are so worried that it will not live up to our expectations although it is a last minute decision.  Could anyone give us some feedback if you stayed there recently.  Is there any restaurant nearby overlooking the beach for a romantic sundowner or are we aiming for too much? We need to celebrate a special day and could not be done better than sundowning overlooking the beach - a moment to cherish forever. Any couple travelling the same time - from july 14? Thank you for your response.

Welcome to the forum Tonya, I have never stayed in Roda but have visited and it is a lovely place and yes there are several restaurants on overlooking the sea. I'm sure some other members will be able to recommend some for you. Have a great time, you will be totally chilled by the end I am sure.

Hi Tonya,

Well you wont be disappointed with Roda. If you want a beach front restuarant there are lots to choose from, Smile is a roof top one on the front and is nice, also the New Port is there as well, Futher up towards Acharavi you'll fine Nino's on the Beach and they have tables right on the front.

Im sure you will have a great time, and if you fancy meeting other forum members I'm hoping to get people together one evening in July/August so look out for a page headed Get together date, and come along and join us all.

Best wishes

Debz
