Hi Mongoose,

I havnt been to Roda myself but if you look in the corfu travel guides on this site you will find a page on Roda which gives you some great information on the resort.

I have had a look for information on the hotel you are staying at, The Hotel Roda Oasis is situated on the outskirts of the main village, about 10-15 minute stroll to Roda itself. Roda is a very flat area which is ideal if you like walking, maybe to the neighbouring villages of Acharavi and Sidari. The owners of the hotel are called George and Georgina and its run by their sons Costas and Nikos who are very pleased to make your holiday a very happy and comfortable stay. This is a very clean and tidy hotel and the food is of a very good standard. There are lots of good reviews for this hotel, some of which you will find on:

           www.holidaysuncovered.com

Enjoy your holiday, and im sure there will be more reviews on here for you to see soon.

Hi mongoose.

I have had a search on the web for information regarding the Oasis Hotel, Roda. From what I have seen and read, it sounds and looks a very nice complex. A friendly family run hotel, with a pool, pool bar, restaurant with Greek and International cuisine. The owners are very helpful, friendly, and apparently cannot do enough for you.

The centre of Roda is approximately 700m away, Shops/Restaurants/Tavernas/Bars 500m, the nearest beach is about 1100m, with the harbour close by.

For more information, and a good look at the facilities, rooms, complex, etc, take a look at the following links, (click on the links).

Hope you have a great time, and please send us back your own comments, and if possible some photos of your holiday. Thanks in advance.

Regards

Roda is very nice.  It has all the usual facilities although I don't know about the nightlife, sorry.  Down by the beach it still feels a bit like a fishing village. The beach itself is sandy in the centre of the village but it isn't the nicest sand.  I personally prefer to walk along the coast road (track really) towards Acharavi where the sand is replaced largely by huge pebbles although once you are in the water you can feel the sand again under foot. The sea is fairly shallow and this area is one of my favourite parts of Corfu.  There is always space on this part of the beach and a couple of complex backing onto it have pools open to the public if you want a change.  The views towards Albania are heavenly, they're not bad looking inland either!

Have a great time,

Julia

we stayed at the roda oasis last year and found that it is a very friendly place too stay although not alot happens at night apart from the greek night and occasional quiz.if u stay in the hotel the rooms are small but kept clean, apartments we were told were spacious and modern.pool is quite deep but next door<matellinos apartments>the pool was new with plenty of sunbeds with the snacks and drinks cheap in comparison.just down the road are a few tavernas/bars worth a visit ,word of warning though there is a pool nearby called roda blue we found the owner rude and obnoxious only interested in how much money u spend.all in all we thoroughly enjoyed are stay at the roda oasis am sure you will too.

The hotel is run by Nikos and Costas who are both very nice. There are safety deposit boxes for rent and air conditioning.   We didn't like the pool area so used the roda blue just up the road, we had no problem with the owner.  We did buy soft drinks and some food there though.  The drunken sailor and Mistral bars seem to be the most popular for younger people as these both have dance floors, most other tavernas are quieter.  Mistral also do karaoke if you like that sort of thing.  Have a great time.
