hi any of you flying from newcastle 3 july

what I remember of corfu airport is a blur I just panic at airports incase I lost any of the kids, when it is so busy with all the fligths coming in together

one thing I have noticed is,that OAPS moan about younger people but I think they are worse, they barge in with trolley and try to get to the front first,WHY??? they will get there bags when they come off the plane and not any quicker than anyone else

so all you OAPS who barge in please think about the small childern when pushing pass everyone

(but I am not saying all are)

my sister in law is flying from newcastle on the 3rd of july Dusty, but we are not going till 14th august.... my problem is waiting for buggy to come off the plane, my son has downs syndrome and is incredibly flighty. I cannot relax until he is safely padlocked into the pushchair and then i move out of the way and let my hubbie and daughter wait for the rest... oh the joy !!!!!!!!!

Andy got his case searched in Corfu Airport last year but we were expecting it.

Being male and with a little kid still left in him he decided he wanted to buy a pellet gun to shoot cans in the garden.  He spoke to the Thomson rep in Kalami and he advised that it was not illegal to bring them home so I allowed him to buy one.

We got to the airport and this pretty realistic looking gun showed up on the x-ray machine, the look of horror on the security guards faces was a picture.   Andy was taken to the side and had to open his suitcase full of dirty clothes and my teddy bear (he was more embarrassed about the teddy)! lol  He opened the box and took the gun out and one of the guards jumped back, it was so funny.  They examined it and happy that it was a toy let him go.  We got some really strange looks from fellow tourists anyway!

To top it all off after all that trouble getting his beloved toy gun home he let his mum use it the next day and she broke it!  His wee face was a picture! lol

We had the same problem with the lazer torches,as they were illegal in britian but we were in turkey and the kids wanted one and all the other kid at the apartment had them

I was panicing going through customs in glasgow, but wasn't stop thank goodness

If I remember after a couple of days home they lost interest in them because there pals didn't have them the usual when you go home

We had the same type of problem a few years ago.  My son had a backpack full of his toys which he was determined to take on the plane with him.  Anyway there a large helicopter with missiles on it and it went through the x-ray machine and the guards were immediately worried.  They one of the guards with gun to come over and made my husband open the backpack - wee one was crying by this point cos he thought they were going to take his toys away!!  Husband was fuming because he had predicted this would happen (of course!!) anyway when the backpack was opend and he took the helicopter out they all burst out laughing - it was a funny moment but for a short while it was a bit worrying!!

Sorry People

Europes security at Airports is a pussycat.(and in my opinion a bit lapse if I am allowed to say that)I went to America last year and to say security over there is fierce bordering on paranoya,I think is an understatement cant blame them but we did a three centre stay last year ,7  flights and got searched .belts metal in trays, trainers off to check for shoe bombs some sort of radio active stick up and down your person, really intense at each airport.

As I said you cant blame them,I personally think we should be more efficient because we are not.

sorry may have gone off the subject a tad
