We also have been many times to Roda and yes it is lovely and the food is great. Our friends met us out there last year and we have tried to get them to come this year but sadly we couldn't get them to come in May. The reason was the airport was too small and he says that you cannot keep going back to the same place! Perhaps some of you people could tell me why you keep going back to the same place. They have now booked to go to Crete, for all we know the airport at Crete may be smaller and more conjested. Maybe if someone is out there that has been maybe you could let me know.
Regards, Pegasus.
P.S. How do you like my horse?

Pegasus, I have been to Crete, it has 2 airports, though we went to the one in Haraklion(SP), which I think is the most used, it was on a similar scale to Corfu, and much the same in waiting times ETC.
We did find the island itself and the particular resort we stopped in (linoparameter(SP?) too busy, young youths on mopeds with VERY noisy exhaust systems cruising all evening and night, its a good job we had very nice apartments with plenty to do and lovely swimming pool, they were at the top of a steep hill though. The beach at this resort was terrible as well.
Ill stick to Roda, its our 6th visit this year and I must say the whole island of Corfu is more relaxing than Crete, but maybe we picked the wrong resort to visit.
Its amazing just how many people you bump into who visited last year and the year before and so on.

Crete is the only island that we have visited and actually hated it. Noisy, unfriendly and just plain horrible. We love Kefalonia, Skiathos is lovely for beaches and we also enjoyed Rhodes immensley but found the staff in Rhodes town shops very pushy, also the food in the town was not good. However, Pefkohori and Lindos itself, great for food and scenery. Yammas,Belinda and Phil

We are staying in Roda at the Pegasus Hotel in September this year. We love Corfu! Last year we stayed at the Odysseus Hotel in Paleo which was lovely. Has anyone been to the Pegasus Hotel and could tell me what it is like please.
Many thanks.

Click on the link below, not stayed there but from what I've read from other members seems a really good hotel. We've been to have a look at it a few years ago & looks very welcoming.
