What news in particular? Pensions, William and Kate, pancakes, retail disaster in the uk, cricket, police cuts, Libya, Greek economy? My particular concern is Libya.

Was up at Pelekas today- log fire burning cheerfully in the taverna at Kaisers Throne, but no food until after Easter- the pool is currently bright green but will no doubt be cleaned soon.
Roadside full of beautiful spring flowers- a carpet which in places was yellow, then a white patch, and occasionally a large clump of wild anemones or grape hyacinths. The sun was high, sky almost cloudless, but cold still.
People out working on their olives, and vines, even in remote spots along the way, as we did the round up to Troumbetta, along the ridge, then down from Lakones to the Ropa Valley and up to Pelekas, then the byways south to Gardiki Fortress, ending up at Kafe Zes- in St George's south, possibly the only place open for lunch on a mid week day south of town, and very good it was, looking out to sea. One lady was eating outside, but she was wearing a fur coat. We just sat in a sunny spot indoors!

I had to go into Corfu town this morning for various errands and drove round, and round and round until I eventually parked near the end of Garitsa bay. Everything looked beautiful in bright sunshine and the sea was sparkling. Everyone I came across was as polite as ever and I can report that all is well but that this evening it is very chilly indeed...

Still got 64 days to go before we arrive at Sebastian's no doubt I'll have more questions nearer the time, just trying not to think of it too much as it will just make the days drag by
