Stayed there last year for the first two weeks of September. The weather is great at that time of the year.

The hotel was not very impressive though. We had a nice room with a great view of the beach and the sea. Some of the decor in the hotel looks a little tired. It was Thomson Gold when we were there which to be honest is a bit like an upmarket Butlins. The food was not up to much and like a lot of other guests we ate out most of the time even though food was inclusive. You might want to hold your breath when you walk down the hotel path to the beach, most days there was a horrible smell of sewage! In September there can also sometimes be quite a large number of wasps about.

There are some nice bars adn restaurants along the beach.

Stayed there last year with the man above (hubby) and like he says the hotel was a little tired, but the rooms were very comfortable and the standard of Housekeeping was very high concidering how messy we became after a few days of relaxing!!

The walk back from the Beach was steep, further compounded by the various levels of stairs one had to walk up to get to the lifts! The Gates do close at 11-12pm, which meant a long walk from the Village, again very steep in places, to the front of the hotel.  Still good exercise!!

The food was very basic and I guess when you are catering for so many people it did resemble a motorway service station.  You are also given set times when you must go into the dining room, for the evening meal, which was pretty inconvenient.  The wines were expensive (as are all the drinks in the hotel) and a very limited selection.  We did end up eating out for dinner for almost the whole stay (despite it being inclusive)

We found some really nice tavernas and restaurants on the beach, as well as a couple of very nice ones if you follow the road from the hotel to the village.

Finally - and I don't mean to be completly negative, - BUT if you want to use the pool, get there early !! it was like sardines in a can - better to use the beach!

Have great Holiday Agios Gordios is a lovely place in September, and hope you enjoy it

cheers

Denise

How negative of the previous poster.

We stayed at the Hotel for the first two weeks of October and found it completely different.

The Resaurant was beautiful. Nicely set out and the staff were very pleasant and friendly.

The meals plain...you must be joking. They would compare to any expensive Resaurant in the UK. The meals were always hot and plentiful. Also, you were able to sit down for your meal at any time within the Restaurant's opening times. ie. 7.30am - 10am for Breakfast. 6.30pm - 9.30pm for your evening meal.

The gates up to the hotel were never closed and locked, even after midnight.

Yes the lower door near the pool was locked at 11pm, but all you had to do was to walk along the lower part of the hotel and up the fire escape and the landing doors were never locked.

I didn't find the drinks much more expensive than in pubs in the UK, and what the hell, you're on holiday and expect to pay just that little bit more for things like that.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel, and if we're ever in Corfu again, we'll be booking there again.
