Hi Tina.

I'm really looking forward to first visit to Paxos in 2 weeks, me and husband are staying near Loggos for a week and also have a few days in Corfu before and after. We've been visiting Corfu for the last 20 years on and off, and I first went with my family in 1971, always meant to visit Paxos for day trip, so this time can't wait.  I love Corfu, the NE coast, and hope that Paxos will be similar but quieter, and as friendly..... would have loved to have been there before all the toursits and villas holidays, but I guess that's how local people make a living now.  As you said, the more peaceful the better, and we're certainly not looking for more nightlife than taverna meal and hopefully romantic moonlight etc...

Tina

Thank you for that wonderful description of Paxos in years gone by.  I would love to have visited it before mass tourism took over, but we only "discovered" Paxos in 1992 and, although we've noted a few developments over the years, it was very similar then to what it is today.

My first Greek island was Zakynthos, back in the early 1980s.  Not quite as untouched as Paxos sounds in your description, but I don't think that many of today's visitors would have recognised it as the Zante they know now.
