Malcy I've been reading the posts here with great interest and they have given me inspiration to restart my Lighter Life journey of weight management. I managed to lose 5 stone in about 6 months it wasn't all plain sailing but if you really want a healthier body check it out in your area it's not the cheapest diet but it also provides group sessions which look into why you over eat and how to avoid it in the future.

Hi All, well done to all those who have lost some weight and dont get dishearted if you havent, it is not easy!! I started really well this time last year and in 2 months had lost 18lb, then it all went up the hoover and by the time I went to Kalami I was only 5 lb lighter, which I proberly put back on. Vowed not to diet any more, but I am trying to eat more healthy and be more aware when shopping not to put things in my trolley that will call out to be eaten when Im bored or fed up. I am also keeping to my 3 swims a week which I enjoy and I do zumba in the pool which is a lot easier than doing it in a dance studio. The water hids most of the bulges, and the water weight bearing so easier on the joints, but the instructor ensures us it works as well. The secret I think is not to beat ourselves up about our weight, I am sixty one this year work full time do my swims and try to keep active, and I am a stonking 15 stone at only 5 foot 4, but Im here I enjoy my life grand kids hols etc. and I would love to be slimmer but its not the be all and end all. Sorry if I been rabbiting on love to all and good luck with the healthy eating xx

Well here goes... I have so far lost 5 lbs!!! and my sister has lost about 3lbs.
We have been visiting the gym three times a week for the last two weeks combining a couple of classes with the gym on a Friday evenings.
We do Zumba on Monday nights which is great fun and a good fat burner - our teacher is an ex-member of the nike street dance crew and boy she can move her thang!!! but it's great exercise and the music is really fab too!!!
Now then for the Thump Class on Tuesdays!!! I had a bit of an episode last week with my sister on our first visit which had the class in fits of laughter. It was my turn to wear the pads whilst she boxed... well she wacked me on the chin and also on the knee!!! How the hell she managed that I don't know - ended up wacking her back with my pad and threatening to tell our mum that she was beating me up!!! The class and our trainer Andy are fab though - a real fat burner and he shows no mercy (me and my sister gave him grief last week and said he was a fattist!!!) lol but boy did we feel the workout - and yes even though it was hard work (especially with my sister almost knocking me out!!!) We have signed up for both classes every week.

Must admit I have been following this thread thinking what on earth is Zumba. Lo and behold a big article in today's 'Evening Courier' (arrives here before 6.30am!). So now I know all about it, plus the link here. Pity the class is on the same as his lordships sacred evening. Hope they get more sessions so I can have a go when I get the B12 levels up enough to have the energy to do it.
