Hi All, well I started my diet 4th January by buying a new set of bathroom scales and getting out my slimming world books.
I am living in Corfu and there are no classes to go to so I have had to be brutally honest with my husband who is now doing my weigh ins!! I also bought kitchen scales so I could accurately measure the food that I have to, luckily with slimming world red and green days, you dont really have to measure except for your healthy choices.
I have to admit I do save my syns for the weekend because I dont eat a lot of chocolate and would rather have a glass of wine or two with my slimming world curries at the weekend!!
I have lost 11lbs so far, I cant cheat because hubby doing the weighing.
We are walking much more, and this afternoon are doing a walk over the mountain way, a route someone has recommended, I have to just keep going I have a long way to go but must admit its nice to read everyones different stories, will let you know how mine is going. Good luck to you all

Rosy, as your Slimming world books may be a little out of date, did you know that slimming world now has a third choice? So you now have red, green and EXTRA EASY. The extra easy plan is basically...you no longer have to limit the protein or the carbs on any given day...so you could eat pasta/baked potatoes/rice etc freely along with your meat/fish etc....BUT you can only have one of the healthy extras, so either a bowl of cereal for example, or two slices of bread per day. The sins allowance remains the same.
Try logging onto www.slimmingworld.co.uk and they give you a seven day trial menu for the extra easy! Good luck! xx
PS Admin....Angela Chapman is right! Shouldnt this very informative thread be elsewhere on the forum? I used to start one every year in a similar vein on the beach...but obviously only 2 star members can see that.

Yes I realised that Elliemay...but posts are often started in the wrong place by the original poster, and they are swiftly moved by admin usually to a more suitable platform...
But if admin are happy with a thread totally devoted to weight loss being in the Paxos holiday questions forum LOL thats fine by me XXXX

...How about having a new one starting for people who have lost weight and maintained it.
This should help all the people who yoyo and pay money to be told what is really commonsence anyway.
If you are overweight you eat more than you need.(unless of course there is a medical reason)
So eat less and exercise more for ever not just a couple of months!
Wow, don't go easy on us fatties will you. Tell it like it is it why don't you!
As someone who has fought a constant battle against excess weight for over 25 years now I do find this comments rather blaze (should be an acute over the e).
Everyone is different, some people find it much easier to maintain a good weigh than others do. It's not just a matter of less food, more exercise. For a vast majority of people who are overweight there are psychological, social, economic and educational factors to consider. Support groups can be massively helpful to some and shouldn't be condemned as a waste of money.
I really do find elements of your comment very condesending. If you want to start a thread to support people who have already succeeded in losing weight and kept it off that's great, but why not actually do it rather than having a jibe at those who can't attain a sylph-like figure as easily as I presume you are able to.
PS, Viv, be sure to use a plastic coated safety pin, the heat on the beach in summer can make metalic objects uncomfortably hot, and I'd hate to see you with a sore nose
