Like you Malcy I noticed the Gaps in between the Celebrations. So Rita you should be able to keep at a stable weight.
Started going swimming again then one thing after another and have had a chest infection for the last two weeks.
Hopefully as soon as the infection has disappeared I can start going again.
Come on everyone remember Christmas is not far away and you will have all them parties to go to. You will want to be able to wear that little black number and look good.
I know Malcy cannot wait to wear his little black number again

Hi all, as Viv says not long off christmas, so we can do it. Ive lost 4 lb but not all my own work, had a tooth out and gum needed stitching, so eating been hard work, never mind every cloud as a silver lining, pain gone now and 4 lb lighter!! Although I have to admit have been following healthy eating plan from doctors, with help from weight management at my local leisure centre, and swimming and more walking, and I have not felt hungry, beats all the fad diets Ive done in the past, which I think have helped made me fatter, because they impossible to maintain, its good cause can still have treats, but I find it better not to have the treats in the house in the first place, cause Ive no will power. Like Rita says all the occasions are good excuses to binge, and thats when we need the will power, especially when that bottle of wine says drink me, Oh dear am I alcy as well!! Could start another thread. Good luck everyone keep it up, and keep posting even when we not done good, its good to know others are struggling and we here to motivate each other lol Ann xxx

Ann, you are doing well, stick with it! Losing it slowly is likely to keep it off...
As for me, similar to you really, still following (kind of LOL) the Weight Watchers on line programme. Not sticking to it like glue but have developed a routine now, banana and yogurt, or small bowl Secial K for breakfast, sandwich made from that Weight Watchers fresh air bread LOL /ham/salad etc, cup a soup, WW yogurt and a pear or apple for lunch...then a normal home cooked meal in the evening, just a bit smaller than I would have normally.
Lost 6 and a half pounds since I started (about 5 weeks ago I think)...still eating out and having a drink at the weekends, you get 49 extra points to account for that so still having fun!

Ann. It's not going very well.
I kid myself that if I am bad over the weekend I can make up for it during the week!
Since we got back from the boat on the Broads I've not been on the rowing machine or the bike. I now think that if I eat a less than 70 thingamee bar for breakfast I am going to lose pounds overnight. If I cut out the alchohol!!!

Aw Malcy dont give up, you started this thread and encouraged us all to do something. We are all human and to be good all the time would be boring! And as for the less than 70 thingamee bar for breaky, bin it and get a proper breaky, you wont be hungry till lunch then. As for alchohol, dont go there, need something for a wind down sometimes. Elizajay your diet sounds very similar to mine, plenty of the good stuff with the odd treat in between. I have also given up drinking apart from one glass of wine at weekend. I am also keeping up with swims, if I cant get there because of work, I do stair walking for half an hour, just up and down the stairs. What I do know is, if I had done all this when I was younger, the weight would have rolled off, could lose a stone in 4 weeks, thats what I find frustrating, but as Alan keeps telling me a pound off is better than a pound on, so sticking at it. Good luck to all that are trying to lose weight, we can do it even if we do stray now and again lol Ann xxx

It does become harder through the Winter months but just keep going slowly and then once the New Year is here and you are looking forward to your holidays again there will not be so much to loose.
As for breakfast. Agree with Ann ditch the 70 thingamee bar. A good bowl of Porridge will keep you away from feeling hungry until Lunch time as it burns energy slowly and it is good for the heart, unlike the thingamee bars that burn quickly and hence you feel hungry before lunch.
