Well we went out for a family meal last night to celebrate my nephews birthday and I used up the 49 weekly points allowance that the new weightwatchers diet allows. I dont feel bad about it as we had a lovely evening. Although I shared a bottle of wine with my niece, I did only have a half portion of pasta - and didnt eat it all so my stomach must be shrinking (on the inside - I only wish it was shrinking on the outside too!!!)
It will be interesting to see what the scales say on Wednesday as I have a theory so lets see what happens.

In the past two years I have dropped 2 1/2 dress sizes, without actually "dieting". I have done this by cutting out nearly all sweet things (i.e. no chocolate, cakes or puddings except on very rare occasions), very few snacks, masses of vegetables and fruit and fish and shellfish cooked in olive oil. I also walk for at least an hour a day in winter and swim an hour a day in summer. I have fruit, fruit-juice and a cup of tea first thing, a salad for lunch and a proper supper - could be meat or fish and two steamed veg (with wine of course) and it seems to have worked. I think it is a gradual process though. When it is very hot in summer my appetite just dies away! I think you have to find the right way to eat for yourself and if you love eating a particular thing you should have it in moderation but balance it with other things which are "good for you".

Lavinia, I loved that post!
You have done so well...and any weight loss is so good for our health...thing is
I probabaly have about 2 biscuits a month...NO cake unless there's a family members birthday, which means I would of course have birthday cake!
I have healthy cereal for breakfast with semi skimmed milk...a wholemeal sandwich with low fat filling for lunch plus fruit and a yoghurt...then my evening meal would consist of meat or fish/veg or salad/and roast/mash or baked potato...plus the odd alcoholic drink or 2...OF COURSE!
walk my very energentic spaniel briskly for 40 minutes (at least) per day, then do a gym class or swimming twice a week......
mt lovely dad always tells me, whenever I complain about my weight...just eat less cakes! oh...if only it was that easy??????

Well I am totaly confused with my BMI that Michelle spoke about in an earlier post.
I have a low or normal BMI depending on which one you want to listen to
I went on three different sites put in my height and my weight.
1. Said my BMI wast 20 and that was normally.
2. NHS - Said it was 19.5 and that I should put on weight. My goodness that is the first time I have been told to put on weight in nearly 57 years.
3. This was Weight Watchers said I was 19.5 and that I should lose another 6lbs in weight
I know that I do not have to lose weight now but just keep it on a healthy level.
I enjoy reading your posts though girls and boys because having been over weight myself for most of my life. I know what it is like to reach a stone loss. The joy of buying that size smaller outfit and I just love reading your posts and hopefully help urge you on when you feel that you have had a bad week.
Keep it up Girls and Boys as far as I am concerned you are all

I don't know about you, but I find it quite disturbing that the NHS site is saying you can afford to put on a little weight, whereas Weight Watchers are saying you still need to lose more. I know which one I'd be more inclined to believe - the one that didn't stand to make money out of me trying to lose weight! It's not hard though to see how normal-sized teenagers might be persuaded that they're fat, with all the awful consequences that can result in. Scarey!!!

LOL Viv BMI can be confusing especially trying to calculate it!!! The rule of thumb is usually BMI of 18 and under - means not enough body mass and that you are underweight - 19-25 is the healthy BMI and over 25 is too much body mass and over 30 BMI is dangerous as apparently this can bring with it all sorts of health problems, diabetes etc.
I try to strive for 24-25 mark which my Doc says is a healthy mass.
And for the record Elizajay - I had a big sin this weekend but still lost 1lb!!! (profiteroles with squirty cream!!!) and they taste so much nicer when they are a treat.

Hi Elaine
Funny that was the first thing that went through my mind - anything to get a few pounds out of me in both ways lol.
Also as you said about the teenagers who maybe look at these sites very scary.
Lucky for me I came out of my teenage years last year
Michelle - Thank you for the confirmation at least I know I am kind of Normal .
