As it has gone very quiet on the forum site can I ask some questions?
I fear the worst, but did I see somewhere that Captain Nikos is no longer with us? He didn't look very well last June?
Has Spiros still got the lovely black Labrador?
Now that the Baker has retired and closed up his shop, do the people who now operate in the corner shop near Roxi actualy bake their own bread?
(We were in Villa Martha last June at Dendietika at the top of the Donkey Steps. The 'old' Baker was looking after the pool. The poor man came in at about 11.30 one evening and whilst the pool lights were on I was sitting on the Terrace in total darkness enjoying a nightcap. He stood about a metre away from me and when I asked if I could help him!!! He survived.
Has anyone else seen the cat chasing the small dog along the quayside? It got a great big chear from everyone.

The original Captain Nikos, who started up the first boathire business in Loggos many years ago sadly passed away in September 2007. I don't know who you saw last June, but his son Panos who now runs the boathire business and also Mastoras supermarket, was in fine fettle when we were there in July.
Not sure which Spiros you mean? The only Loggos dog that I know belonging to a Spiros is Rocco, the old red-setter (ish!), who was still making his way home along the harbourfront each night last July.
I'm pretty sure that they still bake their own bread for the shop. I saw the new baker, who I think is the old baker's son, carrying baskets of fresh bread down from the direction of the old bakery behind the church several times last year, early in the morning.

I fear I may have lost more of my marbles than I thought.
If we are talking about the same person I could not have seen him last year! It must have been 2007. (We went to Skopelos in 2008, nice villa, wrong Island) I can picture him sitting with a couple of old boys next to his boats and his wife's little shop. His wife and Panos were looking after the boats. I am assuming she was his wife, I know the guy was Panos from the supermarket up the road, he gave us instructions the first time we hired a boat.
The black labrador we first saw a few years ago when it was a lovely pup. It was at Spiros Bar on the jetty. I was assuming that the guy with the pony tail who plays the guitar was called Spiros but perhaps I've got that wrong as well! He was on the Holiday Programme when Linda Barker featured Paxos.

Yes, it certainly sounds like Nikos, but it must have been 2007, because we were over there when he passed away and virtually the whole village was in mourning for him.
I vaguely remember the Spiros you're thinking of from the Taxidi bar having a dog now you mention it, but it hasn't been there for a couple of years now. I think I remember someone telling me that he gave it to someone else on the island because he travels a lot in winter and couldn't look after it properly. So no, you're not losing your marbles
