We have booked Bastas Apartments first 2 weeks in June with Olympus. We chose the island for it's simplicity and laidbackness. We have read several contradictory reports about Bastas. We are under no illusions as to what to expect as we have stayed in Greek apartment several times. All we ask is the apartment is clean, and the shower works. Can anyone please confirm that we can expect that? Thanks, Liz & Steve

I've never stayed at the Bastas, but plenty of people who come on here have stayed there and most of them have plenty of positive things to say about it. Until someone else comes along, you might be interested to have a look at this old thread which also has a link to a Youtube video taken at Bastas a couple of years ago.

I have stayed several times and not had a problem. Basic Greek rooms, at least the door shuts between the bedroom and where the fridge is so you don't get that buzzing all night!
If you do have a problem just have a word with the owner and the rep.

Liz and Steve we stayed at Basta last September. The rooms were basic the owners very friendly and the pool in a lovely peaceful setting. For what you pay its fine. Basic yes, but a clean bed, a saucepan to boil some water in, and if you are lucky a room with a view.
Would we go back? You bet....see you there the first two weeks of June!!!

Have stayed at Bastas and cannot complain. It was clean rooms basic but we had good view over village and harbour,
Swimming pool excellent above hotel so good views over harbour.
2 mins walk to village, bars and tavernas.
You have free minibus to Monadrendri beach every day with return journey approx 1700 hrs.
Owners very friendly and helpful
Don't worry you will enjoy it there..........
Paxos is a fab island.

Hi Bill
Hope you are all well.
I have Nancy's number but she is not answering at the moment. The email addy she gave me is not accepted. I have found the business card and emailed the Amfitriti so I am now waiting for a reply. I have looked at a ferry timetable but only to end of April, how do they pan out because my local flight times are awful, can see me spending half the night on a bench at the ferry terminal, never mind.LOL.
Flights are expensive but there is only me to pay for so not too bad. Do you have Nancy's room rates?
Can't reply to pm not enough stars so sorry about this.

hello to you all, i have news for Amfitriti hotel!!!! i have been there twice and i came really close with all the family. it just happened to have their phone number in Athens. so i did call them and i found out that they have dropped olympic and finally they are on their own. they have a new web site www.amfitritihote.gr where we can book directly. i was really surprised when i saw the prices.....they were really cheap and they can arrange also our transfer from gaios port to Amfitriti. and i mean Amfitriti!!!!!! and not Bastas-Lakka, and from there walking. i will be there in july, they will send me the schedule of the ferries and they said that if i can manage to have more people with me (like 10) they will book me a sea taxi on the same price. their phone number in athens is 0030 210 8229443. i know for sure that the first week of May they will be in Paxos.
