Hi everyone For my honeymoon, i have booked a week in Kassiopi, Corfu departing 25th August. We have now decided to extend this to 2 weeks but we're not sure whether to go to Corfu for 2 weeks or to Corfu for 1 week and Paxos (Lakka) for 1 week. Any advice would be welcome! Basically we came to Paxos on a day trip last year and i loved it. My fiance is just a bit concerned there isn't enough to do there. For example does Lakka have enough tavernas? Can we hire a car? Could we get the bus anywhere? Could we hire a boat? We are looking at the Amfitriti Hotel & apartments. Please help me convince him!! (I'd like to book it today) xx

We spent our honeymoon on Paxos 20 years ago. I thought it was a perfect honeymoon destination - Lakka is lovely - it is fairly quiet but lots to do - walking, swimming and boat hire and fabulous waterfront tavernas etc. I don't think you'd get bored for one week. Anyway - aren't you meant to spend most of the time indoors on a honeymoon? LOL

We've done 9 nights in Corfu (Agios Stefanos, just a couple of miles from Kassiopi) and five nights in Lakka for our last three holidays. It is a really, really lovely balance.
As for your questions:
Are there enough tavernas? Enough to keep you busy for a week easily. There will also be plenty of bars (well, half a dozen)staying open until the early hours at that time of year, although there aren't any clubs
Can we hire a car? Easy
Could you get the bus anywhere? It goes to the other two villages on the island
Could we hire a boat anwhere? - yes, there are three boat hire places on the harbour front.
I don't know the standard of accomodation at the hotel you're looking at but I've spent some great afternoons on Harami Beach, which is directly in front of it. The views of the bay are great.
Lakka won't be as lively as Kassiopi, but at that time of year there will still be plenty going on, but in a more low-key kind of way.
Hope this helps.

If you look back thro' previous posts you'll find some info on the Amfitriti and Bastas (pages 2 & 3)which should help you make a decision. There are plenty of tavernas and bars in Lakka, and there is a bus service to the other villages on the island. There are also taxis which are reasonably priced. We have been visiting Paxos on and off for 20 years and haven't got bored yet....... In reply to your query about transfers, do Corfu first then Paxos, makes the whole transfer thing easier.

If you do you, will probably return again and again, and I dont think you will regret it, Its likely you will get the Paxos bug - and never want to go anywhere else ever
Perfect for a 2 centre woth Corfu - and even better for a honeymoon - go to Loggos, try the Sunset bar at Erimitis, have a lazy day over on Antipaxos, hire a boat go around the island ( in the morning ) walk in wonderful peacefull surroundings, the list goes on and on.....

deffo - it's the most beautiful place and you'll love it. very romantic too, so appropriate for a honeymoon. there are plenty of restaurants and a few bars - no nightclubs though i don't think - or at least we didn't find one, but the bars stay open for as long as you want anyway! i stayed at the amfitriti and it's very well situated on one of the most lovely beaches on the island. the accomodation is very standard as is to be expected in Greece but it served a purpose and we would go back.
you must go to La Bocca - fantastic restaurant in Lakka.
Congratulations on your wedding day - when it arrives!
