Help me out here folks!

We live on Corfu, and I really, really want to have a short break in Paxos, but the other half, being a boring old so and so won't have any of it. "What do you want to go there for, you've already got a Greek island 24/7" is his reply when I broach the subject.

What I need is some good arguments, not for taking a few days off (I can sort that out), but for heading to Paxos in preference to somewhere else.... All ideas gratefully received.

Paxos
the reasons are endless - i've just got back and it's the most beautiful greek island i have been to and i've been to 6 small islands and 1 big one. here goes:

1. the most beautiful beaches
2. you can hire a boat for next to nothing and see the whole island in a day, stopping off at any beach you fancy
3. the restaurants are lovely and the food is great (in most) in lakka try La Bocca and Rosa di Paxos they are both brilliant
4. the locals are lovely and seem genuinely happy to have you there
-1. it's not as cheap as corfu though so don't tell him that bit!
5. if you like walking there are loads of lovely trails
6. it's just brilliant and i bet you'll want to live there instead!

good luck :)

Hi Bill, we went on a three day trip to Paxos last October. It was really nice to take a short break somewhere other than Corfu. We just walked into town and asked at the kafenion where we could get accomdation and they sent us to a really great place right on the front. We caught the bus to the other villages on the island and went on the boat trip round the caves.
Although we have a house in Corfu it no longer seems like you are on holiday when we are there but going away for a few days was really nice.

Can anyone tell me how much it is to get to Paxos via the hydrofoil?
The blue dolphin timetable doesn't seem to have prices amongst its' information.
We are hoping to go for the day in September.
Thanks

Thanks for the advice - I'll wait till he's in a good mood then land it on him... I feel a wedding anniversary celebration coming on!
