Just over 4 weeks and we will be at Loggos, really looking forward to it. Have been reading the forum for a long time but just decided to join. When we stayed in Corfu and Zante there were offices which rented out boxes for money and passports. Is there such a place in Loggos? Not that I am in anyway concerned about crime. We are staying at the Nikos and Christina Apartments on the waterfront near the soap factory, so if anyone knows anything about them I would love to know. Looks like a fabulous location. I am so excited!
It is a fabulous location so you do well to be excited! right in the centre of the village with fantastic views out to sea. No idea what they are like inside however, but I'm sure they will be fine. As far as I know there is nowhere in Loggos that does safety deposit boxes and to be honest I don't think there would be any call for them. In all the years we have been travelling to Loggos we have never had any problem with security. We are just as normally careful as we would be at home i. e.locking doors and windows when we go out and not leaving stuff on display. As you are staying at Christina and Nicos I am assuming you are travelling with Planos who run a bureau de change in the village. For their own clients they run a sort of 'tab' scheme where you can draw money and settle with one cheque the day before you leave, so we just take a few euros to 'start us off' and then get more as and when we need them , this means you don't need to have large sums of money lying around anyway. Just remember to take a cheque book with you!
I'm sure you will have a fantastic holiday just as i'm equally sure it wont be your last visit.
Thanks for the quick response. Yes we are going with Planos. So you think an ordinary cheque book would be ok if we were stuck for cash. Don't need euro cheques. It feels great writing to someone in the know.

If you like you can double check with Planos, (who never seem to mind how many questions you ask) but on our Paxos info sheet (it came with our tickets),it says all you need is a UK cheque book and your gaurantee card, so I know they are still doing it. It certainly makes life easier as there is less to organise before you go, and we've never had to worry about 'are we taking enough' and end up taking too much! So just a enough euros to start you off and you're away

I bought euros from Planos in Lakka in May this year using a cheque. The rate of exchange was very good. It's better to use a cheque rather than your debit card as there is a charge, understandably, for using a credit or debit card.I think that most of Planos' appartments/villas have safety deposit boxes but I'm sure a phone call to them will clarify this.Have a great holiday - I'm sure you will.
