Hi,
I hope your husband recovers quickly, being Asthmatic i always find i am better in the warm atmosphere of the Greek Island than back in damp old England.
I would think your cards would work in the ATM's. Bringing cash for 2 weeks could be dodgy. Probably no problem with the Islanders more from other "tourists". Some of the travel offices will do cash advances on your debit cards (Planos or Routis in Lakka does). Otherwise travellers cheques would be a good bet.
As we holiday once a year and go for complete laziness.....eat out every night.....we usually take around £1200 in sterling not sure what that is in Euro at the moment.
I hope you have a fantastic time!!! We have just over seven weeks to go.

Hi,You will find it cheaper to use a cheque to get euros from Planos as there is obviously, a charge for using credit or debit cards. We found that they give a better rate of exchange than we received from using our debit cards at the ATM's. Have a great holiday.

We were in Paxos last month and took some travellers cheques (100 euros left over from last visit local Planos office charged 1 euro to cash cheque) and Nationwide BS debit card which does not have any charges attached. If you use card in ATM be aware that you might have a cash daily limit on your card so if you exceed the limit the ATM does not say so but states you have insufficient funds in your account even if you have.
We were self catering and found we were spending about 50/60 euros a day on food/drink.
Hope this helps.
Have a lovely time............
