Hello all and everyone, i am visiting paxos for the first time on 11 Sept, staying in Lakka. It looks brilliant. Me and a good mate, both single guys in our thirties. We wanna chill out, drink cool beers and totally relax, listen to some good tunes in the evening if thats possible, if not we have the ipod as a standby.

Anyone out there going at the same time. We will get the first round.

Sounds like my kind of holiday guys!

Are you staying for one week or two?

Paxos

You'll be able to find good 'older' music at Romantica, Fanis & Akis, and Harbour lights later on. Chill out, drink cold beers definitely on our favourite island. I can smell a Mythos now if I close my eyes and imagine the sun setting on the harbour on this cold wet, windy night.

Enjoy

You will love it. I got back yesterday from a week in Paxos. Four single girls. When we arrived we thought that perhaps the island would be too quiet for us - lots of families and couples, but we were all so sad to leave we just fell in love with the place. The people on Paxos are the friendliest you could hope to come across. We stayed in Loggos which is a beautiful little village built around a harbour. Quite quiet - lovely tavernas, but a great bar - ROXI bar. We had many a late night there.
We liked Lakka too - Akis bar and restaurant on the harbour front was fantastic. expensive compared to other places but great food and brilliant for people watching. There were loads of glamourous Italians coming in off their yachts. we could have stared at them all day long! We didnt go out in Lakka at night as we tended to stay around Loggos or head into Gaios - which probably has the best nightlife on the island and has a really nice vibe to it. The thing is that as the island is so small it is easy to move from place to place. you get to know the taxi drivers quite well - Christos particularly mad. I would recommend you hire a little boat one day - we took out a little motor boat on a couple of occasions from loggos - captian nikos...it was 45 euros for the day but well worth it. you can do the whole of the east coast from lakka down to gaios in a day. monodendri beach seemed to be the coolest on the island with B&Gs beach bar and taverna..did a trip to anti paxos which was great but too crowded . will be better when you go though as i think most of them come in the first two weeks of august. I hope you enjoy it - we absoultely loved it.

Hi Happydog,  you going to Lakka for one or two weeks??  You will love it, it's my second home and I will be there on 22nd September with my two female friends.  I must warn you though we are mad scousers and party every night, and when the bars close, we party on the balcony till we drop !!!  Seriously, Lakka is a fab place, I have many good friends there and go at least twice a year.

I remember visiting Paxos on a daytrip in 1976. If I remember correctly there were no holiday companies there at all. Hope it's not changed too much . Yammas
