Thanks It was a planned op that I've been waiting for for some time and I'm feeling pretty rough at the moment, but I'm sure I'll get there in the end.
I didn't know you stayed at the Nicholas apartments. We've been there twice when we wanted a "Paxos-fix" week in late season that wouldn't break the bank. Dare say you might recognise the family in this photo that I took last year - http://www.flickr.com/photos/xenosuk/52336847/in/set-13880/ Were any of them still around this year?
We've never stayed at Electra, but I agree, it does have fantastic views. Not sure if I could cope with living next door to the Roxi for more than a week though - we like the occasional early(ish) night to get our strength back up (and our alcohol levels down!)
No, the Stone Houses are owned by the Kakarantzes family who used to have a taverna in the back alley behind the Europa bar. It closed down about 3 or 4 years ago, which was a pity, because we thought they served the best food on the island. Toli, whose name is given as the contact on the website, worked as a waiter at O Gios for a couple of years after the family taverna closed, but he got married earlier this year and now has a "proper" day job working on the bin lorry. I was surprised to see his name given, because I thought that his older brother was sole owner of the Stone Houses, but it looks as though it's now become a family concern.
I had an email from Amazon to tell me they couldn't find the Peter Bull book either and asking if I wanted to renew my standing order for it. I won't give up, I expect it will turn up eventually. Whilst I was in hospital, I read Emma Tenant's House in Corfu, which cheered me up a lot. Have you read that one?
