probably a long shot but just wondering if theres anyone i know out there, actually worked in kassiopi 1981 til 1988 just missing out '82. i believe we were actually some of the first workers(we were told) to be there. only a handful of us. worked on the beach with the waterskiing+ parakiting with nikos + socrates the local communists !!!! met some great people there, but a lot of the locals we didn't work for tried to get us out all the time.i worked on the building of emily's fastfood!!!!which became emilys steakhouse, then zanzibar,(same owners as ski school+boat hire+angelo(nikos' cousin) had the bike hire next to angevines.Ileft after the 1st year of zanzibar.had some fantastic times .saw somewhere on a post that someone had an emilys t shirt ,i was the person who had them printed. the 1st year was before angevines was a disco, the disco was inside jacksons + yannis jackson would play cassettes!!!happy days!!!DOES ANYONE KNOW NIKOS+EMILY ELIAS/SOCRATE +CATERINA.anyone know know nikos,s son+daughter dimitri+chrissa just wondered how they are and what they're doing?also damianos +spiros who also worked at emilys? i,ve now got a bar in nerja spain . it sounds like you all still love kassiopi i know we all did even with all the hassel we used to get.,sounds so much bigger now,not suprising though as its nearly 18 yrs since iwas there.

I've been going to Kassiopi since 1979 and remember a few of the English fellas who were working there in the early days. One in particular comes to mind called Dave, tall blond chap who rode a very high powered motor bike. He worked at the Angevine and also ran a hire motor boat outfit, all the boats were painted blue. It didn't last long, I think that he was worked out by another firm.
Socrates is still about, he is captain of his own cruise boat doing N.E. Coast cruises and Corfu town for Cosmic cruises. He has got a lovely boat, a big Turkish gulet, all varnished. I remember him when he was doing the paragliding when you worked there.
You are right, it has got bigger obviously, more bars and restaurants etc. but it hasn't lost its charm. We will be going for a month again in September.
All the best........Alecko.

If you click on to Lawrences avatar you will see an enlargement of Socrates boat, Erinoula. He hasn't changed much although he has a short haircut nowadays, he still walks around with barefeet and he has a bit of a pot belly now. I see him every day as I drink in the Eucalyptus bar opposite to where he ties his boat up. You can see the bar in Lawrences avatar.
Your name rings a bell, but I cannot put a face to you. What is Nerja like?.I have got a mate who moved to Mijas, the other side of Malaga from you, a couple of years ago, he loves it.

alecko: nerja is a great place to live with great weather all year round ,even today its 19 degrees cent. one of main reasons for being here as its all year round trade. if you have any free time my mates web site is pretty good , www.nerjatoday.com ,shows a lot about nerja. its still very spanish even though theres lots of foreigners here, and the spanish fill the town in august on their holidays, its also very different to a lot of peoples opinion of the costa del sol.if you let me know how to post photos i'll dig a couple out of soc etc ffom the 80's and stick them on . all the best hasta luego.
