Wilf,

No need to apologize, it's no trouble.  I'm glad it has been sorted out.

Enjoy the site,

Julia

Hi, What do you mean by "preview post" ?? Before you've sent it, or after? Does the person you were trying to message have access to the PM system?

Go into your PM system and click 'Outbox' this will give you a list of all the messages you have sent - have a look if it's listed, if not, then no it hasn't been sent. When you send a message you should get a confirmation screen telling you the message has gone and to whom. Also, on the left side of the message list in your outbox are some blue envelopes. A light blue one means the message has been read and a dark blue one that the message hasn't.

Sounds like you're using Mozilla Firefox as your browser. If so, I've noticed that if you type a PM and try to pre-view it, occasionally it will just clear the message box and you have to type it all over again. Really no point pre-viewing anyway as it's virtually identical to the message you've typed.

Messages aren't usually transmitted unless you click the Post Reply or Post Message button...............

As Trace points out above, check the person you wish to message has the PM facility by going to a post they have made and looking at the buttons along the top of their message. If there is no PM button, they cannot receive a PM from you...............

Before I post any message or any PM, I always select all and copy my text.......just incase the website, or server has a blonde moment and I lose what I've written. That way I can always re-do without any hassles

Good idea Trace....... This also helps if you need to leave the message box to check something on a page somewhere else - as it's always gone when you come back.......

Hi Guys and Gals.

I dont know if this is of any help to you. In reference to what Mike was saying above, going to another page and leaving the message box. I use the Tab system from the browswer (3 all together). One on my mail box, one on the CTG Message Boards, and the 3rd as a floater, if say for instance one needs to refer to another page when writing a post or PM. Although you are using the CTG for instance on another Tab, it does not affect the other CTG Tab with the open post or PM box.

Hope this is of help for you all.

Yammas, Chris.

Only three Chris, you must be a tidy user.......I get a hard time for being such a power user and frequently have windows into double figures open
