We once tried the local lager in tenerife which was vary good indeed ,does Corfu have anything nice or does it have to be Amstel.

Well Bluebar - we are regular visitors to Tenerife too.  Our favourite bar is the Irish Times in Los Cristianos (highly recommended) because the entertainment is fantastic, and the beer is superb.  We always just went in there and ordered "two large beers" (like you do)

Earlier on in the year when we were there, we were sat beside someone who asked the bar staff "what will I get if I order a beer?"  And guess what the reply was?  "Draught Amstel"

I think that in most bars in Kalami its either Amstel or Mythos - so you choose!  We are lucky - we love Amstel, funny how it we dont like it at all when we are back home in the UK!

Can certainly recommend the Mythos! Only discovered Kalami this summer and therefore that was the first time we had ever tried Greek beer. Very tasty. Not sure it would travel particularly well as it might taste a little bland in our climate..... however, in 30 degrees of Greek sun it certainly hits the spot!!

MYTHOS!  It is gorgeous (I normally don't like beer) I drank vast amounts of it in Kalami this year.  Its quite good value aswell for a bottled beer because in the tavernas you get a big pint bottle for around 2.80 - 3.00 euros I think.  The small bottles are a little more expensive in Cocktails & Dreams at 2.50 Euros (unfortunately they only do small bottles).

The supermarkets sell the big pint bottles for around 1 euro I think so its a bargain to have one or two before you head out.

Amstel wasn't to Andy's or my liking but lots of people were drinking pints of it, and it was the cheapest option at under 2 euro a pint.

Alpha isn't too bad either, but Mythos is definately our fave!

Find both the Amstel and the Mythos nice when they're ice cold, but if they start heating up (not that they get much of a chance) the Amstel wins hands down.......the warmer Mythos seems to start to get a strong aftertaste

Each to their own as we all have dfferent favourites.........
