Hi All, just returned from a very chilled out week in Barbati. I used this fab site for reference before we went and it didn't let me down! We stayed in the Pantokrator Hotel which is very well run by a fantastic, friendly team of staff who looked after us and made for a very enjoyable stay. Rooms are sited on a series of terraces at the foot of the Pantokrator Mountain and can be hard going if you are not an active person or just downright lazy like myself, but I coped with a few rests here and there! Facilities in the rooms are clean and simple and perfectly adequate for a refreshing shower and a good night's sleep. (Rooms have DVD players so if you're prone to sunburn such as I, take a few DVD's with you or hire from reception to take your mind off the pain!!!) We wanted a quiet, relaxed week and stuck to the small cove wich lies beneath the hotel and enjoyed excellent, relaxed lunches at the cafe/restaurant that you walk through to get to it. Again, the steps back up are not for the faint hearted and a stop for a caraf of local red was necessary for the second leg of the journey back up to the hotel in the evening! For the last two days we hired a jeep and explored the island taking the smaller mountain roads and coastal routes and became quite blase about the hairpin bends after a while. All in all we got exactly what we wanted, a relaxing, quiet week in the sun with good food and brilliant service and I cannot recommend this trip highly enough for the likeminded.
Cheers, Lou & Arjen
