Having read the previous posts in this thread just confirms that we've managed to get a really good bargain this year.
Our Jet2 flights from Newcastle came in at about £190 each (they would have been even cheaper had we sorted out holiday dates with our workplaces earlier) and our accommodation is 1130 euros (about £960).
This works out at about £420 each for two weeks self catering and the kids go free! (We're 6 adults, 2 children and one infant)

I managed to get a what I think is a bargain via Thomas Cook £918 for 2 people 2 weeks in August that includes 20kg of baggage each in flight meals and transfers flying from Manchester on the 15/08/2011 at 07.05 in the morning staying at Dionysos in Arillas, there were cheaper holidays but it meant a night flight.
Its the cheapest holiday I have paid for in the last 5 years in August time the nearest being £122 dearer

We can go to Fuertaventura for half the price, and cheaper flights.
I know it's not the same, and we are upset, but needs must when the Credit Crunch bites!!!
The credit crunch was a disaster...and my partner chose Orlando, Florida for a week, last week instead of Corfu.- which is her perogative as she was paying. Daytona beach proudly proclaimed to be the most famous beach in the world, and maybe thats the case but I have sure seen better beaches in Corfu, and especially Barbati, and yes Im grateful that at my age I finally got to visit international drive and all the parks...but would I hold it in my heart like I do Corfu...no I wouldn't.
credit crunch is biting hard....i formerly did 3 weeks in corfu at peak, - the place must have lost a fortune in the last two years

We also thought we would not get to Corfu this year, but my hubby is 60 in June and it is our 10th wedding anniversay same week, so I trawled the internet and got 2 flights for £290, apartment in Kassiopi for £160 for week, car hire £120 for week and valet parking at airport for £38 so quite pleased with myself. Went to Portugal for my 60th last year was more expensive and not a patch on Corfu, but each to their own, some of my friends love it there xx
