I agree that it's better for everyone's security to bear with the restrictions. However, I wish they'd let you past security with a small empty bottle so you could fill it up at a water fountain or in the washroom. In some places, they don't sell water at any price. At Athens airport, they confiscated an empty bottle from me, and we had a long and thirsty wait before we could get on the delayed plane to Corfu.
(And when I asked, "Do you at least recycle the bottle?" The security "officer" sneered, "No, we throw them out. Which he proceeded to do.)
