Unfortunately I doubt very much I shall be around in 2080 to see that happening David!! But we certainly have the beaches for the mediterranean weather

Weather is the most unpredictable thing. However one thing to remember is that it also depends where you are staying on the island, if there are clouds about it can be raining south and central and dry in the north, wet in the east and sunny on the west etc. Why not use days like that to explore other parts of the island, head for where the sky looks bluer and you'll be back on the beach in no time. There are threads previously of bad weather last September however here in Paleo I don't remember it being very bad.

Hi
Have to agree with some of the more recent posts, you cannot guarentee the weather wherever you go. Friends have been to Mexico...huricaine!! Florida..hurricaine, myself went to Kos last year to visit friends and the locals were in shock themselves as to the ammount it had rained the 80 year old nonna of the family said she had never seen weather like it.
So my theory is go where you want to be. We have spent many holidays in Corfu September, October time and I have learned that some call this the rainy season, but it has always been warm and the rain comes short and fast and if your kids are old enough we swim in the pool anyway you can only get wet once. If you have small children, and I have taken mine since they were four month, spack some colouring books, crayons, small tubs of play dough and other little craft things, they can sit to the table on the balcony while you sit next and read your holiday reading, it may not be sun bathing but just enjoy the tranquility and the fact this is your holiday away from the rat race have an ouzo or two or Mythos or what ever may be your tipple, and even though I have had this type of weather I have always come home with a tan as the sun comes out within minutes and dries up everything. If you think it is going to rain in the evening have little ponchos foe the kids and work out where you want to spend the evening, take colourings for the kids, or go to one of the many places that show a movie.
At the end of the day no-one can control the weather, you could decide to go somewhere else next year as they had good weather this year but then it could rain there then, look beyond the weather and you will find Corfu is an island of beauty with wonderful people and places
enjoy....

I have had holidays in the last 2 years, where the weather was not good!!
In 2007 I was in Ibiza in August, and we had the most torrential storms! Lovely to watch but a little bit disappointing when you are only there for a week! The beaches were covered with seaweed, which after a few days, smelt really bad,so bad you couldn't even walk along them.
Last year,I was in Crete, albeit the beginning of October, and again the weather was not good, rained on and off for the last 4 days. BUT.... I still enjoyed and made the most of the time I had there and believe you me ,I was really upset cos I just love being by the beach and taking long walks etc!
As Shell says,no-one controls the weather.but please make the most of the time you have there,I still have lovely memories even though the weather was not what I would have liked!!
I am sure, that, even though the weather does not conform to what we would like it to be,a holiday is meant to be enjoyed, and I know that I will enjoy whatever the weather. I do feel sorry for the people who have looked forward to their weeks in the sun,and the weather has not been good for them, but I sincerely hope they had some good times too!!
Life is so short, please enjoy every minute

I would rather be in Corfu in the rain than stuck here in Sheffield in the rain....and working! I was in Ibiza last year in May and the weather was awful, it rained 4 days out of seven!) I took my mum and grandaughter for their very first trip abroad - birthday treat for them, all the family went, but even though it was frustrating (with a three yr old ) it didn't dampen our spirits and mum's just got back from Benidorm so it didn't put her off either! Holidays are what we work all year for and I'll enjoy my time in Corfu whatever the weather (even if I am scared of lightening1!! LOL ) I've earned it this year !! Hope every one has a lovely time in Corfu - I know I will be Jo x
