Got back yesterday from Nissaki after two weeks. First week was wonderful but I've never known anything like it last week in thirteen years of going there. It was also quite cold as well.
I feel sorry for those who were only there last week.
Area was very quiet of people which we quite like but think it could really damage local businesses.

We got back yesterday as well. Stayed in Sidari at Anemona apartments (3rd time!). Although there were storms it always cleared by dinnertime. Still had a great time with all the family. Costas from B.E.D remembered us from last year too!! My grandaughter loves him - but she is only 4!

Was it really cold in Nissaki last week? Agni thermometer showed 80/90 deg every day and they are just down the road from Nissaki. Perhaps it's stuck. 28C and climbing here in the Padstow area, desperate for some rain, been weeks and weeks since any significant but they say it's coming later in the week.

We arrived on the 19th of June at night - had a great sunny day on Saturday - then the rain came (we were on the north east coast 'Barbati') the storms were amazing to watch but not what we wanted ......... there was a thread the day before we left about the weather and it said 5 days of rain -- I decided not to tell my husband as he had been under so much stress with work and such so anyway when the rain started and I got the kids raincoats out on the Sunday to go to breakfast he was all proud going 'thats my wife always prepared' - I so didn't want to pack them but I knew it was the right thing to do - it rained where we were from the Sunday until the Saturday and I know that other parts of the island didn't suffer as much as we met some lovely people who did a day trip to Paleo and had no rain at all. The rain did clear each day by about 4pm and then everyone turned out at the pool which was great - in all we had a great time but it was a little marred by the rain - luckily we had a toys/dvd player etc and also got the kids sleeping in the afternoon until the sun came out again ............... they are still doing this now.
We are all really looking forward to going back in September - my little man especially - 'mummy I really love Corfu can we stay here' he said - bless!!!
We were so lucky we met some wonderful people on our stay with lovely children that well doing my 'new cleaning' job makes it all worth while ..... started tonight to pay for our stay in September and although I hated pretty much every minute of it all I could think of were my wonderful family and how much they enjoy Corfu .......
Sorry to waffle on - its been an eventful day ....

I still haven't got over the weather last week. To be honest it was a hell and put a bit of a dampener on our love of Corfu as there isn't a lot to see when it's absolutely bucketing down. If you think I'm exagerrating, I had to abort a drive from Nissaki to Corfu Town as it was actually quite frightening when we got as far as Gouvia.
If we could find somewhere to stay in September we would be back to experience the real Corfu but frightened that another bad week could put us off altogether.

We must have been lucky in Paleo because if there was rain it was either during the night or in the early morning, clearing up to a nice day later. We had only 1 day where it stayed overcast. Although the island is small the weather varies from area to area often it can be raining on the East coast and be a beautiful day on the West coast. Once again we have a lovely sunny day.

Corfu is the wettest - and greenest - island in Greece. You say there is nothing to do when it's raining, but so many ex-pats just love it here in the winter - there is always something to do. If a bit of rain jeopardises your love for Corfu, then maybe you're on the wrong island! Try one with no trees & no water.
