Buxworth, that's easy to say.......but what about the 1st time visitors to the island who have chosen to say in one of the northern resorts? They don't really have much choice....

I feel slightly sorry for the 1st time visitors to Corfu - they cant appreciate the island that was pure and absoulote bliss back in the 70s before the mass market invaded -
I remember the first time I stepped off the plane and just gazzed at where we had come to - those low rolling hills and the fragrant smells - awsome - well we can all look back cant we ! Well todays visitors get the same view - but without the innocence and lack of tourist culture that we now have unavoidable really -

Drink's aren't all that expensive maybe a 50cent increase on te forign spirits, 2euro for a '''measure''' of any spirit and 1.50 for a mythos in TimeOut to me that seem's reasonable enough. Plus the few free drinks through the night when George fancies a drink. I sat there from 11pm till close (5am ish) and spent only 20euro that including buying Barry, George and Marianna a couple of drinks... i don't know but im sure my tab should have been a hell of alot bigger than that at the end. 5 euro for a ouzo just sounds stupid maybe was an exageration? Can get a cocktail for that price where half a large wine glass is a mixture of 8 different spirits plus a top of fanta. (mmm La Bomba)
