Thanks for the reminder Dave and Kerry. I forgot that Vassilis (AKA Bill) expressed an interest in them last year.

He found the same as I did though - that they go very slowly in the shops. The problem is that the vast majority of tourists think a map is a map, is a map.

You and I and most other discerning members of this Forum know different, but so many unsuspecting tourists go for the cheapest, or glossiest map thinking they will give a true representation of the island and its road network - one of the reasons why you can see so many drivers, cyclists, walkers and motorcyclists scratching their heads in puzzlement at many,many road junctions all over the island.

It is only after such experiences that many people decide that they want a real map, and they come across this site or hear by word of mouth!

It's a shame because many first time visitors miss out on so many beautiful places because of misleading information.
