To re register you only have to go on to the web site. However I am not sure about when actually living in Greece. I re registered just before leaving England, so wont really know till I get confirmation of the date I need to register so if anyone has any further information that would be good. I am not currently working as a nurse due to retirement, but would like to keep my registration 'just in case' With regard to nurses being required here, I do not think they practice at the same level here as in England, and you would certainly need to speak Greek from what I have been told.

as we can now pay by direct debit and register online it should be more straightforward, but yes it is a nightmare, just another ploy to get more money out of us for very little in return, it must pay for their new tweed skirts at the NMC!

Good to see 2 threads for nurses going at the same time - thought I was the only one.Perhaps we should form A breakawy group!! I have just renewed my registration - 1 year for 3 times the cost of 3 years the last time I registered!! Which other profession would stand for that? Would be good to find some way to continue to work in Corfu though.

Totally agree, what other profession has to pay yearly for the pleasure of being able to work!!!!!!!! Also I am sure recent increases have been well above inflation. I think the tweed skirts that they wear in the N&MC offices must be better quality than those worn by the UKCC for the cost to raise so sharply

hi there, had to add my two penny worth to the conversation , my husband, and myself are both registered nurses [ retired now]
pity we are not 20 years younger, we could open our own clinic
we let our registration lapse when we came to live here 3 years ago, anyway the beaurocracy was driving us crazy, it was time to get out of the system
