why would i get excited about sending over a thousand quid to a bank account in corfu. i guess it means im definately going, and that in 17 weeks i will god willing be there.to see pantokrator again and beautiful corfu town, and wonderful paleo, and that great place kassiopi. its worth every penny

How did you set up your bank account,did you do it when in corfu?.
Did you send it by bank transfer or what,and what was the cost of sending it,if you dont mind me asking.

Jock,we set up our account in Corfu town the minimum deposit was 300 euros.We tranfered the house funds into the account via an agent in the UK.But our own UK bank will do it at £16 a transaction

Go on to google and type in the Alfa bank and see if it can be done from this end..(I am prity sure you can) as i did open an account with the Al bankco of Mexico some ten years ago that was done via the internet...Chris

We live in Corfu, and pay in a sterling cheque every month to our Greek bank account. No transfer charges! We then change it to euros when the rate is good!
